What we do is a little more involved than renting storage space, we are a self-administered and self-managed real estate company focused on ownership, operation, acquisition, and development.

Community and Sustainability are a Priority
At CubeSmart, we know that our long-term success is not solely about what we do, but more importantly about how we do it. With that in mind, we are focused on the sustainability and efficiency of our self-storage properties as well as community outreach. We remain focused on sustainably maintaining our portfolio to ensure they remain visually attractive while pursuing opportunities to improve energy-efficiency. Charitable work is important to us, as we offer donated storage units to local non-profits and volunteer our teammates’ time through days of service and other events. Through our ongoing partnership with American Forests’ Global ReLeaf Program, customers who rent a storage unit with us have the option to indicate that they want CubeSmart to plant a tree on their behalf. CubeSmart has planted more than 90,000 trees since 2010, keeping 450 tons of pollution (e.g. dust and ozone) out of the air every year as well as storing 2,200 tons of carbon in the trees’ trunks and limbs every year. CubeSmart is committed to growing sustainability programs and eco-friendly initiatives. In addition to our partnership with American Forests, these initiatives include:
Social Commitment - We are focused on providing high-level service to our customers and their feedback is a key component to ensuring that we continue to serve them in the best way possible. We also want to be good citizens in the neighborhoods in which we operate so we look for opportunities to positively contribute through volunteer work and provide paid time off to our teammates to participate in these activities.
Community Service - Self-storage is a hyper-localized business, and our goal is to provide strong support for our teammates and leave a positive impact on the communities in which we operate through paid time of for volunteer time and charitable donations and our matching gifts program.
Alternative Energy - Solar panel systems are installed on many of our buildings. CubeSmart makes annual investments in energy savings and sustainability projects to increase operating efficiencies and reduce the company’s environmental footprint. CubeSmart regularly evaluates conservation opportunities; this includes implementing policies and practices to reduce energy consumption, increasing efficiency, and expanding our sustainability efforts.
